Thank You Founding Fathers

Author's Note: In Language Arts we had to enter a writing piece into a contest called "Patriot's Pen". The prompt this year was "What would I tell the founding fathers?" I am almost positive that you will find this piece not at the best quality because of a very hard prompt, but I made it what I could.

When the Declaration of Independence was created in 1776, there were many certain people who helped create this document and our beloved country. Do you think of John Hancock, George Washington, or Thomas Jefferson? No matter who you talk about, there are certain sayings that you could say to the founders. Some people are so grateful they can't express themselves enough; but then if others saw Ben Franklin they wouldn't pay attention to him. The founding fathers deserve a lot of credit; if they didn't  create the country we love, we would most likely be living in a world of despair.

The 56 people who signed the declaration of independence sure had a lot of courage. At first there were a lot of kinks to work out, but after all of the years since 1776, they finally declare that they have it all together. If you are one of the doubters thinking to yourselves why they couldn't have thought the whole process out in 1776, think about what was going through every single person's mind while the document was being created. Would you be able to think straight if you had the whole country depending on you? Just the fact that the founding fathers were brave enough and had enough courage to pass the document shows how reliable and trustworthy the founding fathers actually were.

Now, all this brings up the main point of what I would say to the founding fathers. Every single person in this country would most likely say something casual like, "You're awesome!" or "Thanks, man." trying to lay back.  But if I would get a chance to talk to the founding fathers, I would truly thank them from the bottom of my heart for creating the beautiful, free country we live in today. Everything that has happened throughout the 236 years in-between the signing of the declaration and 2012 is because of what happened on July 4.  If that declaration wasn't signed by the 56 people, what world would we be living in today? Certainly not the wonderful country that leaves every person with freedom and rights throughout the U.S.A.
